The club has played its home matches at the Schwarzwaldstadion, with a capacity of 24,000, since 1954. Since 1970 it has been rebuilt five times in total, most recently in 2004, and has been renamed several times. The days of the ground on the Dreisam are numbered, however. On February 1, 2015, the citizens of Freiburg voted by 58.2 percent in favour of building a new stadium in Wolfswinkel in the Brühl district.\n\nConstruction on the new home, provisionally called the SC Stadium, began in November 2018. It is designed to hold up to 34,700 spectators.
