2–1 against Lautern — emergency keeper Schjönberg could not stop Freiburg: near the end of 1999/00, Freiburg needed a win to secure survival. Against Kaiserslautern, Michael Schjönberg had to go in goal in the second half because both FCK keepers were injured. He could not stop Levan Kobiashvili from scoring the decisive 2–1, though in the 84th minute he became the first outfield player in Bundesliga history to save a penalty.
Freiburg stayed up anyway.
