The Willis: at the start of the new millennium Freiburg treated themselves to half a dozen Georgians. Many of their names ended in “-willi,” like Levan Kobiashvili or Alexander Iashvili. The fans had fun adding “Willi” to the other names read out before kick-off, even to the coach. It became especially special once a German player named Tobias Willi joined the squad and turned into Willi-Willi.
